Towson vs. Dulaney Rivalry
There is one word that can make any Towson student or faculty member’s blood boil: Dulaney. The famous Dulaney-Towson athletic rivalry began many years ago but it wasn’t until this year that it earned the affectionate label of the “The Rivalry Cup.” Each school year, both schools will be awarded points for athletic victories in all three seasons (one point for a JV win, two points for a varsity win). At the end of the school year, the school with the most points will be the winner of the Rivalry Cup.
During the fall season, every sports team hustled to bring home well-earned victories, earning them fifteen points in the Rivalry Cup standings. Dulaney, however, earned sixteen points. We are currently neck-and-neck with Dulaney, hungrier than ever to crush our rival in the winter sports season.
Come out to Goucher College on December 18th to cheer on the girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams as they battle the Dulaney Lions. The girls play at 5:00 and the boys play at 7:00. This game will definitely be a nail-biter, so don’t miss it! Be sure to show your Towson pride by wearing maroon and white and by bringing along your loudest cheers to send the Lions packing home to Dulaney. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
The JV games will be played on December 19th at Dulaney. The girls’ games starts at 3:45, followed by the boys’ game at 5:15.
Be loud and be proud to be a General…and beat Dulaney!!
