Madi’s Review: In my opinion this movie was very entertaining but some specific aspects could have been better. Especially since this movie has been a staple for teen girls there were a lot of high hopes and expectations. The songs were slightly altered, one song that was majorly changed was Revenge Party. Many people are upset at the tone shift from the actress Angourie Rice. The costumes were a great representation of trends in society but some of them looked cheap. The dialogue was extremely similar to the musical which was fun because I could quote the movie while watching the first time!

Eves Review: I thought the mean girls movie musical was very engaging and a fun watch. As long as you aren’t a die-hard fan and can overlook a few minor alterations from the original, the movie is overall pretty solid. The songs were as catchy as the original soundtrack and had a modern twist added on. One thing that stood out to me was the camera work. The beginning of the movie started off being recorded on a phone, then it had a smooth transition into a full screen and song. The casting wasn’t perfectly accurate to past renditions, however it added diversity and was very representative of many cultures. My personal favorite song was “Sexy”, which was from the halloween scene. It was a very energetic scene and I loved the costumes and camera work, which made the scene very lively and fun.
