In a world dominated by the phone and all its fancy programs, everyone is glued to screens.  It’s sad to see teens text away, rather than talking to their friends and family. But now a brand-new card game is attempting to change that. 

This challenger is called “Exploding Kittens.” It’s a silly game where you must avoid the exploding kitten. Players take turns drawing cards and playing them, until they get the exploding kitten, and then they are out of the game. It’s a fast-paced game that gets more and more intense as time goes on. As people keep playing cards, the draw pile gets smaller and smaller, until… BOOM! Exploding kitten. 

The game is short and sweet, making sure that you can get a round done in about ten minutes. It does not take that long to play; therefore, you can play it once and move on the rest of your day or keep playing! “Exploding Kittens” makes for a great distraction, keeping you off your phone, and interacting with others for a little bit. 

The cards are silly with many zany types of cats on each card. Ranging from the palindromic taco cat, to the strange hairy potato cat, there’s tons of crazy cards. The best part of the game is looking at all the funny pictures and cartoon drawings on each card. Some of my personal favorites being the exploding kitten ones (see the photo).  

In the end, “Exploding Kittens” is a very fun, very silly card game – a wacky little distraction that’s good for getting people together for a bit.  

It will keep you of your phone and talk with your good pals IRL.
