Sexual Allegations in Hollywood: Shocking and Absurd
As a fan of House of Cards, I’m shocked and saddened by the recent sexual misconduct allegations against Kevin Spacey. Not only is this an embarrassment to himself, but an embarrassment to the powerful Hollywood world.
Kevin Spacey is not the only person in Hollywood receiving multiple sexual assault allegations. Joining him are film producer Harvey Weinstine and actor/comedian Louis C.K. As more and more people come forward, the slope only gets slipperier for these big-name movie moguls.
We must face the hard truth – these well-known celebrities are now accused of horrific sexual assaults. Take Kevin Spacey for example, or as some might better know him, Frank Underwood. This is a man that not only is accused of sexual assault, but accused of groping and assaulting teenage boys, something I believe you should be thrown in a jail cell for the rest of your life and never allowed to see the light of day.
Harvey Weinstein on the other hand has had over 80 accusers of sexual misconduct – that’s about two entire football teams put together. Not only is this simply absurd, but we have to ask ourselves: how did he get away with for so long? One word… power.
Power is what these actors have, and that is why they can get away with being abusive for so long. Weinstein and Spacey are in a clear position of power, and that’s what makes it hard for these accusers to come forward. The ones who do come forward have guts and these groups victims should all be praised for their perseverance in coming forward.
