Rita’s Brings Familiar Faces
The frigid winter breezes have receded and the sun is shining brighter. Spring is upon us and its arrival brings one of the most anticipated openings of the year: the opening of Rita’s.
In Towson the annual opening of Rita’s on March 3rd is synonymous with the beginning of spring. This year is no different. Seemingly like clockwork, the weather has warmed up just as Towson’s favorite ice-cream spot has started back up. If you drive on York Road and pass by Rita’s you will often see a swarm of energetic customers eager to purchase a refreshing Italian ice or a creamy frozen custard. Junior Brooks Benassi says, “It’s the best ice cream joint in town and it’s clear when you see so many people in line.”
If you stop by Rita’s you’ll be sure to see some fellow students there. Senior Caitlin Berger has been working there since her sophomore year and says, “I love working with all my friends and seeing so many faces who I know.” Rita’s has emerged as a hangout spot for students in the area and it’s a great place to connect with your peers.
Rita’s is not just your typical ice cream store. It is where the people of Towson come together and display the true meaning of community. Next time you happen to pass by, be sure to pay a visit to Rita’s this spring to enjoy a tasty treat and meet up with some familiar faces.
