The Rivalry Cup Returns

Hearing the word “Dulaney” should make any Towson student sick to their stomach. The intense rivalry between the two schools always leads to nail-biting, high energy, and the most electrifying games of the school year.

This will be the third year of the Rivalry Cup, a competition that keeps track of the winners of each Towson vs. Dulaney game. The winners of varsity games receive three points and the winners of JV games collect one point. At the end of the year, the school with the most points will be the victors of the Rivalry Cup.

Dulaney has gotten the upper hand in the first two years of the competition. In fact, not only did Dulaney defeat Towson, but the Generals were decimated, fueling them with the dedication to make a come back.

Towson looks to rebound this year and grab their first win of the Rivalry Cup. Dulaney has the early advantage by grabbing a win over our new girls’ golf team, giving then an early 3-0 lead for the year.

The Generals might be down early, but there is still a plethora of games remaining.

The fall season games are:

Field hockey on September 28 at home

Boys’ soccer on September 28 at home

Girls’ soccer on September 28 at Dulaney

Badminton on October 20 at Dulaney

Volleyball on October 20 at home

Football on October 22 at Dulaney (this is Dulaney’s homecoming game and the bleachers should be packed on both the home and visitors’ side)

Come out and support the teams this fall and be proud to be a General! Let’s send Dulaney to homecoming with a bitter taste in their mouths and take home the Rivalry Cup for the 2016-17 school year.
