JV Boys Basketball

As a strenuous week of tryouts came to a close, a squad of 16 guys rose out of the smoke like a phoenix and the 2015-2016 Towson High School boys JV basketball team was born. There was no time to celebrate the accomplishment. A scrimmage against Parkville High School would soon be upon them.

The limited amount of practice proved to be unfortunate for the team, and they lost the game by one point, despite a miraculous effort from Robert Brino, who scored 10 points in the loss. I talked to Robert about the game and he said, “It came down to the last shot, and it just didn’t fall. But I know we could have won it.”

The team then went into the next week of practice with one mentality: improve their skills and play a solid game of basketball against Western Tech. The Western Tech game was only two days after the first scrimmage, but they also ended up with a loss. The team still needed some more time to generate team chemistry through activities like team meals. In the halls, you can even see that they seem to be laughing it up and really coming together as a pack.

If you want to see the JV boys in action, their next home game is January 8th at 5:30 preceding the varsity game at 7:00. Come out and support your basketball teams before the season is over!

The Generals are very optimistic about this season with a hopeful class of returning sophomores and new talent from the freshman this year. This sounds like a recipe for a winning season this year. Let’s go Generals!
