Movies to Watch Over Winter Break 2015

With 2015 coming to a close and a holiday season already on its way, this is prime time for movie-goers.  Many of the most-anticipated movies of the year come out around the holidays and 2015 is no exception. So get ready movie freaks – the movie storm is coming! Here’s a quick list of this season’s must-sees:

The Night Before- Follow the adventure of threelongtime best friends (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogan, Anthony Mackie) as they wander NYC, searching for the craziest Christmas party of all time. Be prepared to laugh your tails off and mourn for the boys last Christmas Eve together.

Krampus: The story is centered on a young boy (Emjay Anthony) who, according to Slashflim.com, “loses his Christmas spirit after spending time with his bickering family.” This summons the fearsome German demon, Krampus, who comes to torment the unhappy family home. The family must then come together to save each other from their apparent monstrous fate.

Joy: Joy tells the story of a family over four generations, and centers around a young woman (Jennifer Lawrence) who rises to create a business dynasty. Throughout she is tested by the trials and tribulations of life, but she still comes out strong.

Sisters: This funny film follows the lives of two very different sisters. Katie (Tina Fey) is still a teen at heart, and her anxious and divorced older sister, Maura (Amy Poehler), is the polar opposite. However, when their parents reveal that they’re selling their childhood home, Katie and Maura decide to throw one last party for old time’s sake.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Force Awakens is set about 30 years following the events of Return of the Jedi, and follows new leads Finn, Rey, and Poe Dameron alongside characters returning from the previous Star Wars films. This classic American epic space film is bound to turn heads as many die-hard Star Wars fans, along with others, have been waiting for this release for over a year.
