Winter Concerts

With winter break approaching fast, attending any or all of the music program’s winter concerts is a wonderful way to get in that holiday mood.

Towson’s orchestra will kick off the concert season on Wednesday, December 16th, with performances by both the Honors and GT Orchestra, as well as a combined Full Orchestra containing select members of the Wind Ensemble. Along with a few classical pieces, the orchestras will be playing the themes from two popular movies, The Incredibles and The Polar Express, plus a song called “Christmas Festival.”

The second concert will be the next day, on December 17th, and will contain the Honors Wind Ensemble, GT Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and both Percussion Ensembles. Songs will include the classic holiday song, “Greensleeves,” and “Christmas Auld Lang Syne,” a more Christmas-y version of the New Years’ song.

The final concert will be performed by the chorus, which will be split into three separate ensembles, on December 22nd. After presenting their own individual songs, the three groups will combine to sing “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” finishing off the concert season until next spring.

If you’re in need of a short break before the actual winter break arrives, go get in the winter spirit by seeing Towson’s winter concerts, at 7:00 PM on the 16th, 17th, and 22nd!
